PREPARATORY PRAYER

My Jesus, by the sorrows You suffered in Your agony in the Garden, in Your scourging and crowning with thorns, in Your journey to Calvary, in Your crucifixion and death, have mercy on the souls in Purgatory, and especially on those that are most forsaken; deliver them from the torments they endure; call them and admit them to Your most sweet embrace in Paradise, where You live with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Lord, Almighty God, through the Sacred Blood which Your Divine Son, Jesus Christ. . .

SUNDAY

. . .shed in the Garden of Gethsemane, I ask You to free the souls in Purgatory, notably the MOST NEGLECTED.

MONDAY

. . .shed during the cruel Scourging, I ask You to free the Souls in Purgatory, in particular THOSE WHO STAND THE CLOSEST TO HEAVEN'S ENTRANCE.

TUESDAY

. . .shed at the painful Crowning of Thorns, I ask You to free the Souls in MOST NEED OF OUR INTERCESSION.

WEDNESDAY

. . .shed in the streets of Jerusalem as He carried the Cross on His Holy Shoulders, I ask You to free A FELLOW PARISHIONER FROM MY PARISH.

THURSDAY

. . .who left behind Himself as continuous Offering and life-giving Sustenance for the Faithful, free the Soul in Purgatory WHO HONOURED THE SECRET OF HIS INFINITE LOVE THE MOST.

FRIDAY

. . .shed from His Hands and Feet while on the Cross, I ask of You to free the Souls in Purgatory, in particular THE ONE FOR WHOM I MUST PRAY THE MOST.

SATURDAY

. . .whose blood flowed from His side in front of the eyes of His Holy Mother, free the Souls in Purgatory, especially THE ONE WHO HONOURED THE HIGHEST MOTHER OF HEAVEN THE MOST INTIMATELY.

(Recite the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory Be, all 3 prayers as a set, 3 times.)
